What Vogue started in 1926 that we still love today!

So, got a black dress in your closet? In an article written by Maura Fritz, the first mention of the Little Black Dress was in Vogue in 1926. While shape and length have always changed, the need for that "go to" dress hasn't. Today we are going to talk accessories for your LBD (or black pantsuit, which looks great for work functions by the way). I'm sure you all have a black grab and go purse, but we can do better than that. We can get even more function out of our little black dresses.

Giving your black outfit a more casual look can be a great way to find that middle ground. Especially if you don't know what the event is going to be like.

For the casual look, I love this printed fringe bag made by Janine King Designs out of New York. Adding that color and a little fringe goes a long way. Product link

Now we must move on to jewelry. It's pretty intuitive. The more sparkles you have, the more formal you look. But, you don't have to wear a gum wrapper necklace to get casual. Check out these earrings, black with a simple pewter drop.

I tried to think of a way around it, but I have to bring up shoes. I'll admit, there's really nothing in the handmade department for shoes, so I had to go mainstream. The popular thing in shoes right now is the lace up sandal. Since we are putting a casual spin to our black dress, we need to go flat. These are totally cute and come in black. You could also pick a color to match your colored purse.

Don't miss another #ThreeForThursday Follow

I hope you enjoyed The Little Black Dress addition of three for Thursday this week. I know I did! As always, suggestions for next week's issue are welcome!
