Alexandrite is the alternate birthstone for June, let's check it out!

Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June, but at some point someone wanted sparkly, so Alexandrite is the alternate. Alexandrite is really cool, it's a different color depending on the lighting. The story goes, they were mining for Emeralds, and were surprised later when they changed color.

Unfortunately, it's also rare and expensive. I found this really cool Swarovski crystal which is both purple and green/blue, similar to Alexantrite.
